Official GTA 6 screenshot — Jason on a seaplane at a marina at dusk (An Extended Look)

The detail in GTA 6's seaplane clip that most people missed — and why it's the physics argument in one frame

You can fake a big explosion. You can't fake spray leaving a propeller in the right direction unless the water is actually being simulated.

I’ve been in VFX for eleven years, so in any clip the first thing I look at is the water. TGG, who has spent more time in the preview build than anyone, called GTA 6’s physics the most detailed in the industry. His proof is unexpected: a few seconds of a seaplane.

While the plane sits on the water, the propeller throws spray out to the sides. Not a pre-made splash — droplets flying where the airflow pushes them. At normal speed you can’t even see it.

Why it matters. An explosion is easy to fake — that’s literally my job: particles, a sound, and nobody checks the debris. Spray doesn’t allow that. The water has to react to the air, the droplets have to inherit its force, and none of it can break when the plane tilts. That only works if the game’s water is simulated honestly. And the main thing: the clip is raw gameplay, no editing. What’s on screen is what the engine does on a PS5.

One caveat: “most detailed in the industry” is one man’s opinion. But the spray you can rewatch yourself. I’ve rewatched it five times.
