Boobie Ike is a confirmed supporting character in Grand Theft Auto VI and the most explicitly Vice City figure in the announced cast. Rockstar’s May 2025 website update introduced him as a local legend — one of the few from his era of the streets who converted that past into a legitimate empire: real estate, a strip club, and a recording studio.

The empire and where the money flows

Rockstar’s own bio is unusually direct about his economics: the club funds the studio, and drug money funds everything underneath. That single line does a lot of work — it confirms the “legitimate” empire is legitimate on paper only, and it maps his three businesses into one laundering pipeline. In GTA terms, a man with buildings, licenses and a reputation is a man who can be squeezed — and squeezed players are historically how Rockstar drags its protagonists into a city’s power structure.

His most important investment is Only Raw Records — the label he backs alongside Dre’Quan Priest, which ties him directly into the music-scene storyline, the most fleshed-out subplot Rockstar has revealed before launch.

Why “one of the few” matters

Rockstar reserves the word “legend” for characters with long, city-defining histories, and “one of the few to make it out” implies the rest didn’t. That suggests a deep bench of history, debts and grudges the story can draw on — and positions Boobie as the memory of Vice City: the man who knew the place before the gloss.
